It was originally sold in Malta. The car came equipped with AC, that has been removed but comes with the car. It is fitted with a GM alternator and has a tonneau and boot cover. The tires are good. Vin# is GE2464XCV, Engine# GE2793E, mileage showing is 40,112.  The drive train on this car was used in the Triumph Spitfire and most of the mechanical components are readily available. An original owners manual and a basic service manual is included with the car.
In the owners words “This is a very rare vehicle in North America. I bought it from the UK some nine years ago, but the car had spent most of its life in Malta (where it hardly rains). The car is in great shape and runs superbly. It has been maintained by professional British car experts as long as I have had it (all the bills can be made available). The paint, however, is cracked and chipped at certain places. The underbody and frame are in very good condition (no rust). The interior is in great shape too, with a beautiful wooden dashboard. The roof has no tears or holes. It is a great summer vehicle and a real head turner. In addition, In doing a good visual inspection I noticed that the drivers seat frame needs repair, the emergency brake is not working and the RH rear wheel brake is sticky at times.

 History of the Herald

Designed to replace the Standard Eight and Ten in the Standard-Triumph range, the Triumph Herald was a major innovation in this traditional sector of the British motor industry. Independent suspension was used all around, the necessity for greasing was reduced to a minimum, and most importantly from a cost point of view, by the possession of a separate chassis frame and easily replaceable body panels, the model found favour with insurance companies in the form of reduced premiums. Another outstanding feature was the 25 ft. turning circle. A coupe version with two occasional rear seats and a twin carburetor engine could be had, and from late 1959 this power unit could be fitted to order in the saloon and convertible Heralds.
